History
Computer Engineering at Ondokuz Mayıs University Engineering Faculty is an engineering department that is popular among many engineering student candidates. Founded in 1993, the department provides service courses to vocational colleges as well as to other engineering departments and departments within the education faculty. Admission of students to undergraduate and postgraduate studies has been delayed until the faculty member has reached a sufficient number in 2008. A student group of 30 students is selected from the first five percent of the high school graduates each year in the fall semester. Since the books and publications in the field of Computer Engineering were mainly published in English, a two-term English preparatory education started in 2009.
Acquired Degree
Students who have successfully completed all of their compulsory courses and elective courses (elected) successfully receive a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering.
Application Requirements
Candidates must have achieved success in the first five percent of the entrance exams to universities held annually between secondary school graduates.
Education and Professional Goals
Undergraduate and postgraduate courses allow students to establish a solid foundation on the theoretical and practical aspects of Computer Engineering. The undergraduate curriculum is carefully designed to cover a broad range of topics related to Computer Engineering and software development environments. It is hoped that it will not be difficult for graduated students to adapt to new professional settings. Since many applications require each engineer to work in a group in the same project, group work is promoted through group assignments and projects.
Transition to Further Learning
Students who have graduated with a bachelor's degree from Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or other relevant departments may apply to the graduate programs provided they have a score of at least 65 ALES.
Regulations on Examinations and Evaluation
Unless otherwise stated in the content of the course, the students are required to take at least two exams, one written midterm and one written final exam each semester, by Ondokuz Mayis University. The success grade of the course is calculated by weighted average of 40% weighted midterm exam result and 60% weighted final exam score. Grading is based on 100 points; weighted average and final points have to be 60 and 50, respectively for successful completion of the course.
